Optimism is an auto-evaluation tool which helps you learn more about depression. The program helps you monitor you mental health by entering daily data of your symptoms, mood, quality of your sleep, how much exercise you did, hours of sleep, and medication intake. Based on the strategies you used to stay well and the triggers leading to depression, you can develop a plan which helps you see the effectiveness of your methods. The program will keep a record of the data entered and will show it in clear charts, which will help you see what causes your depression and ultimately help you improve your mental health. You can also generate printable records that you can later take to your physician.
The application is nice and very easy to use, so it can be used by anyone without problems. All the available options will appear in a toolbar at the top of the program. From the Options menu, you will be able to customize the number of days to show on reports, the default view of Charts screen, the path where the database is saved, among other things.
In short, if you are feeling depressed and you are willing to do something to improve this mental state, Optimism may be a great start.
